Carrie Louise Staley, 85, longtime Seminole resident, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Seminole Estate Nursing Center. Lousie was born August 6, 1922 to William Robert and Carrie (Roberts) Burton in Maud, Oklahoma. rnrnLouise attended Maud schools and her and her parents moved to Seminole over 85 years ago. Louise worked for Sylvania Company in Shawnee until they closed she then went to work for Western Electric Corp. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she was a quality control inspector for 20 years and retired in 1982.rnrnShe was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seminole. She loved her poodles and her doll collection and traveling.rnShe married Vernon Edward Staley in Seminole on October 22, 1939.rnrnLouise is survived by her husband of the home in Seminole, Vernon Edward Staley. Two sons William Eddie and Linda Staley of Seminole and Vernon Paul Staley of Seminole. Grandchildren Scott and his wife Rose Staley of Seminole, Steven Staley, Todd Staley both of Seminole, Jansen Staley of Tulsa, and Kassie and Lucas Smith of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. 11 great grandchildren, Adam, Alyssa, Stormie, Grace Staley, Patrick and Anna Staley, Sierra, Beau and Vernon Staley and Garrett and Katelynd Smith.rnrnShe is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and one sister, and one grand-daughter Laura Staley.rnrnServices for Mrs. Staley will be Monday, June 2, 2008, at 11:00 A.M., at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. rnrnCasket bearers will be Scott Staley, Steven Staley, Todd Staley, Jansen Staley, Adam Staley and Lucas Smith.
