Carolyn Droste

Carolyn June (Ledbetter) Droste was born February 19, 1935 to Joe and Maude Ledbetter in Maud, OK.  She took her place in heaven on Monday, May 5, 2014 after losing her battle with cancer.  Carolyn graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, and then attended Oklahoma University School of Nursing, graduating with a Diploma of Nursing in 1956.  She worked in various areas of nursing and served on several local and state nursing boards and committees.  She returned to school, obtaining her BSN from East Central University in 1976.  She was passionate and committed to her profession dedicating over 37 years of her life to nursing.  She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Jim Fields, son Curtis Fields, brothers Paul and Frank Ledbetter and sister Joann Guinn.  She is survived by her husband Raymond Droste; sisters Jacquelyn Butler of Tomball, Tx and Doris Ellis of Lawton, OK; sister-in-laws Rosie Stoos of Porum, OK, Genny Rubio and Carol Ann Whitten of Oceanside, CA, Dot Monroe and her husband Hayward of Mountain View, CA and brother-in-law Frank Droste of Johnstown, CO;  daughters Janice and Jeff Harbin of Harrah, OK, Becky Goumaz of Kellyville, OK,  Cindy and David Wilson of Seminole, OK; grandchildren, Blake Bowling, Breane and Zach Griffith, Joe and Sarah Goumaz, Kelly and Aj McElroy, Nicole and Eric Whisenhunt, Christopher and Kaitlin Wilson, Amber Fields, James and Claudine Fields; Jennifer Harbin, Stephanie Harbin and Jeffery Harbin; and nine great grandchildren Michelle Fields, Landon Bowling, Doss and Lane Griffith, Addison and Aiden Whisenhunt and Nehemiah Wilson, Carleigh and Kensleigh Harbin. In addition Carolyn is also survived  by several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of dear friends.  Funeral Services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home are as follows: Wake Service on Friday, May 9th 6pm-8pm at Swearingen Funeral Home, 1001 N. Milt Phillips Ave;  Mass Service on Saturday, May 10th @ 10am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish, 811 W. Wrangler Blvd. (Highway 9) in Seminole. Father Brendan Helbing, O.S.B., will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Blake Bowling, Zach Griffith, Joe Goumaz, Aj McElroy, Eric Whisenhunt, Christopher Wilson, James Fields, Jeffery Harbin and Clay Droste.
