Carol Ann Votaw, age 60, left this life at her home in Seminole, Oklahoma on September 11, 2020. She was born August 30, 1960 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to parents Essie Nixon Votaw, Jr. and Loretta (McGirt) Votaw. She was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, Rewalke band.
Carol was a high school graduate and later worked as a cook at Pleasant Grove School in Seminole County. She enjoyed listening to her country music and going to church at Sandcreek in Wewoka and High Springs in Konawa.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory, her son; Justin Miles Harjo, brothers; Cecil Votaw and his wife Rebecca, James Votaw and his wife Brenda, sisters; Katherine McGirt of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Ramona Johnson and husband Ronald of Seminole, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; E.N. Votaw, Jr and Loretta Votaw, brothers; Charles Votaw and Curtis Votaw, son; Christopher Votaw, grandparents; John McGirt, Alice McGirt, Essie Nixon Votaw, Sr. and Stella Votaw.
Viewing for Carol will be Monday, September 14, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
The funeral for Carol will be Private for family and close friends only on September 15, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Houston Tiger and Jason Tiger officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Skip Foster, Paulo Gonzales, Ben Fox, Cody Foster, Jason Tiger and Junior Tiger. Honorary bearers will be Hunter Woods, Devin Wesly, Blake Votaw, Chad Votaw and Greg Votaw.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
