Carl Stailey

Carl “Buster” Stailey, Jr., 93 Life long Seminole county resident, Carl “Buster” Stailey, Jr. went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Buster was born on April 19, 1918, to parents, Carl Cole Stailey and Grace (Welcher) Stailey in Seminole, Oklahoma. Buster retired in 1980, as a pipe fitter. Buster began his career in pipeline work in 1932 at the age of 14. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas and Rivers Pipeline Construction. In Buster’s career in pipeline construction he had the opportunity to  work in South America, Canada and the Great American Pipeline in Alaska. He was also instrumental in assisting several men obtain jobs on the pipeline. Buster was a member of the Lighthouse Church of God, Seminole, Oklahoma. Buster, married Ruby Lee (Parsons) Stailey on April 17, 1946 in Perryton, Texas. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 would have been their 66th year of marriage. Buster is survived by his wife, Ruby Stailey, one brother, Richard Stailey of Washington State and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. All of Buster's nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews were a big part of his life. He treated them as if they were his own children, in fact, he taught most of them to drive his automobiles. There was not a child that Buster met that he did not love to be around and they loved him back. Buster was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Grace Stailey,  two sisters, Emily and May. Funeral service for Buster will be held, 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bruce Benson officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma. Casket bearers are: Frank Carter, Bryan Rawls, Stephen Rawls, Tracy Bryant, Terry Bryant and Don Dorn. Honorary bearers are: Tim Parsons, Jeff Parsons, Michael Ray Hahn and Wayne Bryant. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
