Carl Lee Hopper, age 68, passed away at his residence in Konawa, Oklahoma, on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Two wake services are scheduled: the first is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 23rd, at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, and the second wake service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24th at Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25th at the church.  Houston Tiger and Jimsey Harjo will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.  Pallbearers are Nicholas Hopper, Sterling Hopper, Stanley Hopper, Donavan Castleberry, Logan Castleberry, Lucian Wheeler, Michael Sheets, and Adam Wheeler. Carl was born on March 9, 1941, in Wolf, Oklahoma, to Omar Gilham and Lela Johnson.  He worked for the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department and he was a Police Officer for the Konawa Police Department from 1985 until his retirement in 2002.  He married Barbara Wheeler on August 4, 1984, in Konawa. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Wheeler) Hopper of the home; five sons, Vincent and Walter Hopper, both of Springfield Missouri, Nicholas, Stanley, and Sterling Hopper, all of Konawa; three daughters, Cecilia Hopper of Springfield, Missouri, Jennifer Hopper of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jamie Hopper of Ada, Oklahoma; one brother, Phillip Harjo of Noble, Oklahoma; one sister, Melanie Samples of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Omar Gilham and Lela Johnson; one daughter, Beverly Pratt; and two sisters, Georgia Harjo and Alice Matthews.   Funeral Information: November 25, 2009, 10:00 AM 2 Wake Services: First one is at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, and the second wake is at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24th, at Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa, OK. Funeral Service will be held at the Church. Visitation is at the Funeral Home in Konawa located at 217 N. Broadway, Konawa, OK 74849
