Bulena Brannon, “Beauty” transitioned peacefully surrounded by family at her side on December 27, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. She was born June 22, 1924 to Robert and Nellie Brannon. She married Herman Stillwell who preceded her in death. She was referred to as “Beauty” by family and friends. Her great grandchildren gave her the loving name Grand or Fishing Grand. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, sewing and dancing. She brought a beautiful smile to her uniquely chiseled cheekbones. Beauty’s robustly, fearless, spirit and a love for life will always be remembered. She was a strong supporter of Voters Rights. She volunteered at local polling locations. As an avid reader, she was associated with the View Park Book Club. She leaves us a smile, when we think of her spontaneous humor, her laughter and the twinkle in her eyes. In accordance to her wishes, she was flown to her hometown in the state of Oklahoma and buried at the family generational cemetery. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ann and Ollie as well as her granddaughter Lisa Brannon/Burress. She is survived by her granddaughter Laronda Brannon/Payne, Lisa’s husband Alfred Burress, great grandchildren Andrew Burress, Aaron Burress, Sierra Payne and Isaiah Payne as well as a sister Juanita Brannon and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in law and friends.
