Brian Daniel Bacon, 36 year old Bethel Acres resident passed from this life on his birthday Sunday, March 15, 2015 in a motorcycle accident on Hwy 177 north of Shawnee. He was born March 15, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents, Jerry Ray Bacon and Susan Jane (Calvert) Bacon. Following his graduation from high school Brian joined the United States Marine Corp. Brian was a flight equipment technician for 14 years and 7 months. During his service to our Country, he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom serving three tours to Iraq, from 2004 through 2009. Brian had earned the Marksman Badge, the Sharpshooter Badge and the rank of Staff Sergeant. During one of his returns from Iraq he married Pamela Sue Arens on April 25, 2006 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Brian retired from the United States Marine Corp. and returned with his family to Shawnee. Brian leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Pamela Sue (Arens) Bacon of the home; one daughter, Taydem Sue Bacon of the home; his father, Jerry Ray Bacon of Newcastle, Oklahoma; his mother-in-law, Helen Arens of New Haven, Indiana; his father-in-law, David and his wife Kathy Arens of Woodburn, Indiana; two sisters, Lisa Haseltine of Haltom City, Texas and his twin sister, Brandi Cox of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Arens of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Matt Arens and his wife Kelly of New Haven, Indiana; three nieces, Kylee Cox, Kelsey Cox and Jaci Hand; five nephews, Connor Cox, Jeremiah Hand, Zach Arens, Tyler Arens and Owen Arens; one great-nephew, Blayden Cagle; grandmothers-in-law, Alvina Rogers of New Haven, Indiana and Beverly Robbins of Angola, Indiana; and a host of other family and dear friends. Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Jane (Calvert) “Sue” Bacon; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Pauline Calvert; and by grandfather-in-law, Edward Rogers. Memorial services with military honors are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Blackburn Chapel Church located at 36305 Lake Road in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with Pastor Larry Sparks officiating the service.
