Bonnie Ruth Brashears Stevenson The Lord needed another rose for his garden and on Friday March 11, 2011 Bonnie Ruth Brashears Stevenson went to be with Him. She passed away in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 89. She was born on July 20, 1921 in Stonebluff, Oklahoma to Robert Fulton and Floody Elizabeth (Brittenham) Graves. She moved from Haskell, Oklahoma to Seminole 62 years ago. Bonnie worked for Lillian Russell, Big Yank in Wewoka, and Wackers Variety Store in Seminole in the 1960’s. She later worked for Blue Bell now known as Wrangler and retired in 1980. She was a faithful member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Seminole where she never missed church unless she was ill; she had a very strong faith. She taught Sunday school and loved singing in Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Wewoka. She married the father of her children Raymond Brashears; he preceded her in death in March of 1983. Her second husband, Steve Stevenson and her parents also precede her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories two sons; Billy and Robert Brashears both of Seminole and two daughters Karen Myrick of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Patsy Whited of Seminole, eleven grandchildren; Roger, Randy and Russell Myrick, Tony, Sheila and Marcy Whited, Lisa and Summer Brashears and Jerry, Sheri, and Cindy Brashears. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive her. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Pollard officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be: Tony Whited, Scot Cathey, Shawn Clark and Randy Watkins.
