Bois “Tex” Buel Martin, Jr., Lindsay, Oklahoma resident, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his home. Bois was born on July 28, 1943 in Maud, Oklahoma, where he grew up and attended school. Tex worked in the oilfield as an oilfield production pumper for Marathon Oil Company and Bays Exploration for many years. He loved football, fishing, hunting and listening to country music. He loved his children very much. He also loved children that were not his own and they loved him almost like a second dad. He was a strong Christian man and for a length of time, he preached in the Saint Louis, Oklahoma area. He was fond of saying that he was a “Jack of all trades and a master of none” and “ We’ll make it work”. Work was his hobby and passion in life. Tex married Martha (Madison) Martin on November 23, 1992 in Big Lake, Texas. Tex is survived by his wife Martha Martin of the home, 5 sons; Bryan Martin and his wife Liza of Big Lake, Texas, Corey Martin and his wife Trisha of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Lance Martin and his wife Mitzee of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Bois B. Martin III of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Colby Martin of Lindsay, Oklahoma, one daughter Shandi Henderson of Lindsay, Oklahoma, one brother Gerald Martin of Hoxie, Arkansas, two sisters Nancy Hurst of Hockley, Texas and Sandra Ryan of Catoosa, Oklahoma. He was also survived by a special Aunt, Betty Jo Love of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Delores Palmer and brother Joseph Martin. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
