Bobby Jack Spencer, age 79 and a resident of Seminole, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at his home. A Wake service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday at the family home located at 1205 Gessel St. in Seminole, and funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Houston Tiger will officiate, and Bill Hobia will assist. Burial will follow at the Ross Family Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jonathan Harjo, Joseph Harjo, Brian Spencer, Stephen Spencer, Josh Lena, Aaron Lena, Marshall Tiger, and Tracy Ray Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Harjo, Mel Lena, Jeff Tiger, Roy Holata, and Garrett Lena. Bobby was born on February 18, 1936 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Silas Spencer, Sr. and Lizzie (Coody) Lindsay. He worked as a roustabout for Joe Mills for a number of years, and Bobby also worked as a custodian for Strother High School. He married Elsie Ross. He was a member of the GAR Creek Ceremonial Grounds, and he was a baptized member of the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church. He also liked to raise hogs. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Spencer of the home; two sons, Samuel Spencer of Seminole and Roy Holata also of Seminole; four daughters, Jackie Harjo of Seminole, Eugenia Lena of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mariam Spencer of Seminole, and Rosemary Harjo of Wewoka, Oklahoma; six brothers, Edward Spencer, Silas Spencer, Jimmy Lindsey, Eugene Lindsey, Walter Lindsey, and Leroy Mitchell; one sister, Augustine Lindsey; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Leslie Spencer, Thomas Lindsey, Charles Lindsey, George Jones, Bill Spencer, Rex Spencer, and Alex Lindsey; and four sisters, Mary Ann Crain, Bertha Lindsey, Ina Mae Spencer, and Nellie Spencer.
