Bobby "Spanky" Wayne Robinson

Bobby Wayne Robinson, known as “Spanky” age 57 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Visitation is schedule for Saturday, April 9th at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Then, he will be taken to Bird Creek Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.  Wake services are scheduled as follows:  the first wake service is Friday night, April 8th at 6:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  The second wake service is Saturday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m. at Bird Creek Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa.  The third wake service will be held Sunday, April 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the church.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11th at the church.  Burial will follow at Ishlum Harjo Cemetery located East of Konawa and South of Vamoosa.  Jimpsey Harjo and Billy Merritt will officiate.  Pallbearers are Thomas Coon, Willie Dean Harjo, Gerald Harjo, Ellis Little, Kerry Warrior, and Hobby Carpitcher.  Honorary Pallbearers are Lydell Yellowfish, Larry Harjo, Jr., and Leander Yellowfish. Bobby was born on September 19, 1953 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Calvin Lee Robinson and Lorene Mandy (Harjo).  He worked as a Nurse’s Aide for ten years at Golden Years and for twenty years at New Horizon Nursing Home, both located in Konawa.  He was also a member of the Bird Creek Indian Baptist Church of Sasakwa, Oklahoma. He is survived by three sons, Bobby Robinson, Jr., Loring Robinson, and Joshua Robinson, all of Konawa; three daughters, Angela Robinson and Selena Robinson, both of Konawa, and Charlene Robinson of Kansas; one sister, Katie Yellowfish of Konawa, fourteen grandchildren; one aunt, Ida Little; and two uncles, Jack Bruner and Kivin Harjo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, and one infant grandson.
