Bobby Gene Lester

Bobby Gene Lester, age 73 and a resident of Asher, Oklahoma and a former resident of Seminole County, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for noon Friday, July 19th at the First Baptist Church in Asher, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Pallbearers are Glen Lester, Grady Lester, William Whitney, Cody Whitney, Gary Allen, and Mason Allen.  Cremation will follow after the service.  Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 17th, and the family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, July 18th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Bobby was born on June 24, 1940 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Arthur Lewis Lester and Lois Marie (Blackwell) Lester.  He was a military veteran of the Army who enjoyed cattle ranching and being with his family and friends. He is survived by four sons, Glen Lester, of Meeker, Oklahoma, Grady Lester of Stillwater, Oklahoma, William Joseph Whitney of Bray, Oklahoma, and Cody Whitney of Sayre, Oklahoma; one daughter, Amy Whitney of Stephenville, Texas; one sister, Bonnie Olive of Asher; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lois Lester and one brother, Wayne Lester.
