Bobby Glen Huggins, longtime Konawa area resident, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at his residence in Konawa at the age of 74. rnrnHe was born on December 12, 1932 in Konawa, OK to Walter Clifford & Edith Mae (Bowerman) Huggins. rnrnBobby married Veda Mae (Abbott) on December 19, 1955 in Ada, OK. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2005.rnrnBobby enlisted in he US Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. Bobby attained the rank of Master Sergant. He received an honorable discharge and retired from the Air Force having served his country proudly for 37 years. After retirement, he assisted with the American Legion Honor Guard for several years. He also worked as a machinist at Tinker Field.rnrnHe is survived by two sons, Glen Huggins of Tucson, AZ and Ted Huggins of Konawa; two daughters, Kay Coleman and Beth Woody of Konawa; one sister, Jean Wingert of Benecia, CA; rnrn11 grandchildren, Robert Huggins, Dana Brooks, Jennifer Huggins, Andrea Brantly, Susan Coleman, Josh Coleman, Cassandra Woody, Chris Woody, Whitney Huggins, Alisha Huggins and Tyler Huggins; rnfour great-grandchildren, Cameron, Macy, Corey and Bryson and a host of other family and friends. rnrnBobby was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather and traveled many miles to support his grandchildren in all their endeavors.rnrnHe was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Walter Clifford Huggins.rnrnMemorial services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Konawa Cemetery with Pastor Pam Shirk officiating. rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
