Bob J. Taylor, longtime Seminole County resident, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 76.rnrnHe was born May 1, 1931 in Ada, OK to Raymond & Bertha (Crenshaw) Taylor.rnrnBob enlisted in the US Army and served his country in the 45th Division during the Korean Conflict.rnrnHe married Peggy (Wood) on June 2, 1956 at Vamoosa.rnrnHe graduated from East Central State University in Ada with a Bachelors Degree in Education.rnBob taught school for over 31 years having taught one year at Luther Public Schools and 30 years at Southeast High School in Oklahoma City.rnrnAfter retiring form teaching, Bob enjoyed raising cattle on his farm in Sasakwa.rnrnHe was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association and was of the Baptist faith.rnrnHe is survived by his wife Peggy (Wood) Taylor of the home;rn two sons, David Taylor and Brandon Taylor and his wife Cyndi of Oklahoma City; rntwo grandchildren, Justin & Madison Taylor; rnone brother, Tom Taylor and his wife Agnes of Allen, OK; one sister, Betty Johnson and her husband Corky of Oklahoma City; mother-in-law, Catherine Wood of Sasakwa; rnsister-in-law, Connie Taylor of Durant and special friend, Buddy. rnHe was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Paula Taylor; one son, Michael Taylor; two brothers, Jerry Taylor & John Taylor and one sister, Tolah Bray.rnrnFuneral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.rnrnServing as casket bearers will be David Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Jerry Taylor, Monte Taylor, Joe Taylor and Nathan Johnson.rnrnBurial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
