Longtime Seminole resident Bob Pointer passed away on Monday, July 16, 2007 in Carrollton, Texas at the age of 80.rnrnHe was the oldest of five children born on May 5, 1927 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to L.A. and Demma (Stephens) Pointer. rnrnHe married Annemarie (Specht) in 1948 while serving in the U.S. Army where he was proud to serve two tours during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was the happiest when he was around groups of people, he loved gospel music and playing his harmonicas. He enjoyed photography and collecting memorabilia and sharing his vast collections with others. rnrnHe retired in 1985 from Atlantic Richfield Oil and Gas Company where he worked for many years. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Seminole and lived most of his life in the Seminole, Holdenville and Wolf area. rnrnIn December of 2006 he moved to Carrollton, Texas to be closer to his daughter and son-in-law. He was a resident of Atria Carrollton, Assisted Living Center where he was very happy in his new surroundings. It did not take him long to become known by fellow residents, with his participation in entertainment sessions and many activities provided by the Center.rnrnHe is preceded in death by his parents and wife Annemarie Pointer on March 28, 2003.rnrnHe is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Monika and Derek Nash of Carrollton. He is also survived by numerous other family and friends. rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 10:30am, Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doyle Long officiating.
