Bob Northcott, born on August 19, 1941, passed away leaving behind a legacy of courage, love, and dedication.
He attended Bowlegs and graduated in 1960. Bob honorably served his country as a Vietnam Veteran, enlisting in 1960 and serving until 1967. During his service, he received the Purple Heart Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and an EIB badge. Bob’s passions included chicken fighting, hunting, fishing, coon hunting, and rodeoing. He shared many hunting adventures with his close friend Richard Bateman. Above all, Bob was immensely proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob married Richenda Northcott on March 21, 1972, in Maud and has been married for 52 years.
He is survived by his loving wife and their children: Stacy Northcott and his wife Lisa, Wayne May and his wife Robin, and Shona Northcott, all residing in Seminole County. Bob was a beloved grandfather to Ashley Humphers and her husband Jason, Terry Young and his wife Paige, Bordan Northcott, Kyla Cross and her husband Nathan, Kyron Kendrick and his wife Kaelynn, Chance May, and Blayke May. He cherished his great-grandchildren: Kora, Avry, Axton, Taylor, Tatum, Terry Jr., Tinsley, Brylie, Addisyn, Haley, Tula, and two more on the way. Bob is also survived by his siblings: his brother Richard Northcott, and his sisters Judy Oates and her husband Lee, and Janie Owens and her husband Willie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margret and Robert, his sisters Susanne and Sybil, his brothers Don, Eddie, and Tommy, and his grandson Chance.
Pallbearers for the service are Ronnie Richardson Jr., Jan Northcott, Keith Hamilton, Kenny Self, Dustin Mullens, Terry Young, Bordan Northcott, and Kyron Kendrick.
Bob Northcott will be remembered for his bravery, his dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Services will be Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., at the Bowlegs First Baptist Church, with Nathan Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
