Bobby Lee “Bob” Laxton, 82 year-old, former Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Dowling Park, Florida. He was born July 17, 1930 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Homer Franklin Laxton and Viola Taylor Laxton. Bob married Freida Mae Gentry on December 18, 1950 in Snyder, Texas. Sadly she preceded him in death on December 8, 2000. Bob had worked for General Motors for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Livermore, Kentucky. Survivors include two sons, David Laxton of Live Oak, Florida and Bobby Laxton of Athens, Alabama; two sisters also survive him, Maxine Davis of Laverne, Oklahoma and Carolyn Yerby of Seminole, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Brad Laxton, Chad Laxton, Lee Laxton, Brittany Laxton and Travis Laxton; five great-grandchildren, Cael, Arlo, Pete, Jake and Sam; as well as a host of other family and dear friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Mr. Fred Williams will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Brad Laxton, Chad Laxton, Lee Laxton, Travis Laxton, Ronnie Yerby and Keith Yerby.
