Billy Wayne Ellis, 76, Seminole resident, went to Heaven, his eternal home, on Saturday July 28, 2018 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with his loving wife Ruby by his side. There, he met Jesus and his loved ones that were waiting to welcome him home. Bill was born December 13, 1941 in Prague, Oklahoma to Marvin Ellis and Ella Mae (Estep) Ellis. Bill graduated with the class of 1960 from Strother High School. He started his working career at the Prague Milling Company, and then in 1961 went to work for the USDA in Ada, Oklahoma. He later went to work for the Seminole Police Department and attained the rank of Captain. Bill also worked for Seminole County District # 3 as a blade operator and Bison lumber in Shawnee, Oklahoma. For several years he worked operating all types of heavy equipment then went back to the USDA Soil Conservation Department in 1981 and retired in December of 2002. After retirement he went back to work for Seminole County District # 2 as a blade operator until his health forced him to retire in September of 2011. Bill was a member of the Praise Assembly of God in Little, Oklahoma and served as deacon and Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. Bill always had a large garden and enjoyed sharing his bounty with family and friends; he had a love for classic cars and owned several throughout his lifetime. Bill also enjoyed going to gospel singings and revivals, his greatest love was God, his family and all his animals. On June 13, 1998 he married Ruby Rackley and accepted the role of dad to her adult children, Roger Parrish and Julie Patton. He loved the role of Pa Pa Bill to his 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Bill is survived by his loving wife Ruby Ellis of Seminole, Oklahoma, his son Roger Parrish and his wife Lisa of Oregon City, Oregon and his daughter Julie Patton and her husband Noal of Shawnee, Oklahoma; his siblings James Ellis and his wife Roberta of Prague, Oklahoma, Dean Ellis and his wife Mary of Seminole, Oklahoma, Carl Ellis and his wife Sherita of Seminole, Oklahoma, Darlene Aldridge and her husband Gene of Cromwell, Oklahoma and Twana Dodson and her husband Buddy of Maud, Oklahoma, his grandchildren Sean, Cody and Garrett Parrish, Cody and Courtney Patton, Tanner and Kayla Patton, great grandchildren Jonah Patton, Payte Patton and a third one on the way, Pryce Patton. He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister Carolyn Shivers and brother Don Ellis. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., August 2, 2018 at the Praise Assembly of God in Little, Oklahoma with Rev. Robert Jackson , Rev. Dwight Guy and Rev. Michael Tom officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Tony Perry, Ronnie Tull, Jerry Poff, Lewis Johnston, Mark McAnally and Mike Cheatwood.
