Shawnee resident, Bill Cleere, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his home, at the age of 85.
Bill, the son of Johnnie and Edna (Bourland) Cleere, was born August 29, 1939, in Seminole County. He graduated with the Prairie Valley High School class of 1957. On November 21, 1959, Bill married JoAnn Revis, at Highway Baptist Church. Bill was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and being out working the land, but nothing was as important to Bill as his friends and family, and he always put other’s needs ahead of his own. Bill was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, in Earlsboro.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edna and Johnnie Cleere, and his sister-in-law, Billy Ann Cleere.
Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, JoAnn, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Norma Cleere, of Seminole; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Joe Buckhanon, of Sparks; four grandchildren, Kurtis Cleere, Rachel Ervin, Derek Youngs, and Heather Cole; seven great grandchildren, Awstyn, Awbrey, Hunter, Sloane, Crew, London, and Vaughn; a brother, Don Cleere, of Harriman, TN; cherished family members Steve and Cheryl Jackson and Stephanie Cleere and many other family members and friends.
Pall bearers will be Kenneth Cleere, Derek Youngs, Jon Ervin, Mike Cleere, Brian Cole, and Kurtis Cleere. Honorary pall bearers will be JD Casteel, Joe Buckhanon, Alvin Cleere, and Steve Jackson.
Bill’s family will be available for visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
A graveside service will be Friday, January 17, 2025, at 3:00 P.M., at Little Cemetery in Seminole, with Casey Kelly officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
