Billy Gene “Bill” Wilson, was born August 28, 1929, in Plainview, Texas to parents Eugene Hendricks Wilson and J.W. “Billie” (Armontrout) Wilson. He attended schools at Petersburg and Plainview, Texas. Bill met Wanda Charlene Ogle on a blind date, and on June 2, 1949, they married in Olton, Texas. The Wilsons and their three children moved to the Seminole area in 1966 to an acreage they had purchased. Bill sold real-estate for an agency in Shawnee for one year before starting a real-estate and Tag agency partnership with Curtis O’Daniel in Maud, Oklahoma in 1968. The company was known as “Maud Farmers Land and Homes,” later expanded to include “Maud Tool Company.” In 1984 the Wilsons built a new business, “Maud Flowers and Gifts.” Bill later owned and operated along with his son, Phillip, “Wilson Equipment Company,” where they sold a wide variety of farm tractors. Bill always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to travel, playing games and reading. Sadly his wife, and the mother of his three children, Wanda Wilson preceded him in death on January 25, 2006. Bill later married Karen Marie (Posey) Richardson. She also preceded Bill in death on March 4, 2015. Bill passed from this life on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Bill is survived by two sons, Joel Wilson and his wife Cindy of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Phillip Wilson of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sheila (Wilson) Genoff and her husband Tony of Bixby, Oklahoma; one brother, Tommy Wilson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one sister, Lynda Dunn of California; 5 grandchildren, Natalie, Jeff, Maxx, Jaye, and Jered; 6 great-grandchildren; and by a host of other family and dear friends. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Wilson, by his second wife, Karen Richardson-Wilson, and by two brothers, Johnny Wilson and Jerry Wilson. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church where Bill served as a Deacon. The Church is located on old Hwy. 99, south of Seminole, in “Letha”. Pastor Jared Byrns will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Serving as Casket bearers are: Kevin O'Daniel, Steve O'Daniel, Barry O'Daniel, Jack O'Daniel, Benny Houck and Walter Edgell. Honorary casket bearer is Carl McMillion. Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016 and Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
