Bill Roper

Billy James “Bill” Roper, 75 year old longtime Ada, Oklahoma area resident, passed from this life on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Ada Care Center.  He was born August 21, 1941 in Ada to parents Edna Lois (Hoosier) Roper and James Jefferice Roper. Bill graduated from Latta, Oklahoma public high school in 1959.  He went on to work as a property assessor for the Pontotoc County Assessor’s Office.  He was also of the Christian faith. Survivors include three daughters, Elisha Hays of Seminole, Oklahoma, Robin Roberson and her husband Scott of Ada, Oklahoma, Venetia Phillippe and her husband Levi of Bristow, Oklahoma, one sister Betty Rigsby of Ada, Oklahoma.  Five grandchildren, Buck Roberson, Dakota Roberson, Tanner Hays, Matthew Hays, and Morgan Phillippe.  Bill is also survived by a host of other family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and by one son-in-law, Tim Hays who died October 17, 2010. Cremation Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
