Lester William ?Bill? Hughes, 84 year-old long time Seminole resident passed from this life Monday, August 18, 2008 at Pioneer Care Center in Seminole. He was born March 21, 1924 in Fulton, Missouri to parents Thomas Hughes and Ella (Walton) Hughes. Bill grew up in Fredrick, Oklahoma before moving to Oklahoma City, then to Seminole in 1952.rnrnBill Married Geraldine Foster and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2004. He also served in the United States Air Force.rnrnBill worked as a diesel mechanic for several years then owned a chicken farm east of Seminole for many years. He was a member of the Seminole First Free Will Baptist Church. rnrnSurvivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve & Connie Hughes of Seminole, Oklahoma and Jerry Hughes of Edmond, Oklahoma. Other survivors include one brother, Carroll Hughes of Temple, Texas and one sister, Irene Alexander of Norman, Oklahoma, also five grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnHughes was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Geraldine Hughes; one son, Harold Hughes; two brothers; two sisters and three grandchildren.rnrnGraveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2008 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home ?
