William George "Bill" Hubbard, 76, longtime Seminole resident, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at his home in Seminole. Bill was born July 16, 1937, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Hazel Mary and Trenton Omar Hubbard. Bill grew up in Seminole and attended Seminole High School where he graduated with the class of 1955. Bill was known by many friends as a proud member of the "Band Of Brothers" that won Seminole's first State Championship in football in 1953. He was also a very spirited supporter of Seminole Chieftain Football. Bill was also very dedicated to being a blood doner. Bill was proud of the fact that he had donated over 42 gallons of blood, which he would always say was "an oilfield barrel of blood!" Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree, in Engineering, Math and Physics. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole. Bill was an Engineer during his working career in the Petroleum Industry. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy. Bill is survived by his daughter; Karen Jones and her husband Jackie Allen Jones of Seminole, Oklahoma, one son Gerald Hubbard of Chicago, Illinois and his brother Jack Hubbard of Canyon Lake, Texas, along with his grandchildren Levi Croce and Jesse Allen Jones and a very special niece Jill Hubbard. Bill is also survived by other dear family and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and by the mother of his children, Bobbi Mae Hubbard who died in 2009. Memorial services for Bill will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.
