Bill Harrison

George William “Bill” Harrison, 77 year old longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Friday, March 22, 2019 at his home near Maud.  He was born February 11, 1942 in Blocker, Oklahoma to parents Lymon Harrison and Mary Lee (Thrasher) Harrison. Bill had served on the Maud Auxiliary Police force in 1969 and 1970.  He worked in construction and always said he was a jack of all trades and master of none. Bill enjoyed fishing and was often seen at his son’s business, “Keith’s Bait Shop” offering fishing advice.  He was also an avid reader and loved his horses and mules.  Bill was known to spoil his dog, “Scooby Doo”. Bill attended the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma.  He was also a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Bill married Carolyn Ann Brown on July 22, 1969 in Krebs, Oklahoma. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Brown) Harrison of the home; one son, Keith Harrison and his wife Nikena of Maud, Oklahoma; one daughter, Nancy Sanjines and her husband Jesus of Ada, Oklahoma; his mother-in-law, Beulah Brown of Maud, Oklahoma; 2 brothers, Jessie Lee Harrison and his wife Kathy of McAlester, Oklahoma, Shirley Wayne Harrison of McAlester, Oklahoma; 3 sisters, Donna Bell Miller of McAlester, Oklahoma, Juanita Watts and her husband Thomas of Norfolk, Virginia and Wanda Gray and her husband Cody of Caledonia, Mississippi; 2 grandsons, Joseph Harrison-Sanjines and Matthew Harrison-Sanjines and his wife Angeline; a god granddaughter Veronica Lopez; and a host of other family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lymon and Mary Lee Harrison, by 2 daughters Denna Harrison and Margaret Harrison, by 3 brothers Eugene Harrison, Tildon Harrison and Ernie Harrison, by 2 sisters Rosetta York and Rose Inez Talley, by one granddaughter Tyra Elizabeth Harrison-Sanjines and by his father-in-law Ernest Brown. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma with Keith Harrison and Dustin Mullins officiating the service.  Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Jesus Sanjines, Joseph Harrison-Sanjines, Matthew Harrison-Sanjines, Modesto Martinez, Pete York and Dustin Mullins. Honorary Bearers will be: Melvin Allen, David Hayes Sr., Clarence Hopper, Jack Morris, Ricky Aderhold and Melvin Kiker.
