Betty Lou (Cully) Wheeler, age 80 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Seminole Care and Rehab Center in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. John and Bernice Campbell will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Casket bearers are Stanley Hopper, Sterling Hopper, Adam Wheeler, Hunter Wheeler, Donavan Castleberry, and Christian Castleberry. Honorary bearers are Johnnie Shawnee, Lucian Wheeler, and Jerry Haynes. Betty was born November 24, 1938 in Konawa to Billy Cully and Edna (Marshall) Burgess- Cully. She attended Eufaula Boarding School and was a member of High Springs Baptist Church. She loved watching Westerns and working puzzles and doing bead-work. She is survived by four sons, Jackie Wheeler of Oklahoma City, Elmer Wheeler of Ada, Oklahoma, Sam Wheeler and William Wheeler, both of Konawa; three daughters, Patricia Jolly of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Barbara Wheeler of Konawa, and Anna West of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Edna Cully; her husband, A.C. Wheeler; one son, Johnny Wheeler, two daughters, Judy Hilton, and Rebecca Castleberry; two brothers, Joe and Raymond Cully; and one sister, Rosie Lee West.
