Betty Lou (Garrett) Watson

Betty Lou Watson, 94, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at her home in Seminole surrounded by her family. Betty was born on September 4, 1926 in Davenport, Oklahoma to Richard K. Garrett and Helen (Puckett) Garrett. Betty moved to Wewoka, Oklahoma in 1936 and lived  there until 1950 when she moved to Seminole. Betty graduated from Wewoka High School in 1944.

Betty spent most of her life in Seminole, where she did alterations for the community for 50 years.  Betty was active in civic affairs and was a "Pink Lady" volunteer at Seminole Medical Center until the Covid 19 virus began. She was a member of the Arts Council for 25 years and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Betty loved traveling and reading mystery and romance novels. Her favorite celebrities were Frank Sinatra and Tom Selleck. She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners play football and spending time with her family.

Betty married H.L.Watson in January of 1944 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her two sons Gary Watson and Greg Watson, her grandson Davin Watson, brother Jack Garrett and her parents and grandmother. Betty is survived by her four grandchildren; Dawn Watson and her husband Jason, Chad Watson, Ashley Watson and Taylor Watson and four great-grandchildren; Cruz Hendryx, Ethan Watson, Gavin Watson and Jolene Watson.

The family has planned a private memorial service for Betty at a later date.

The family would like to express their thanks to Traditions Hospice for their loving care of Betty.

Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
