Betty O'Daniel

Betty Jo (Richard) O’Daniel Betty Jo (Richard) O’Daniel was born on May 20, 1928 to Clarence and Bessie (Long) Richard in St, Louis, Oklahoma.  She was called home by the Lord on January 20, 2010, from her home.  She was 81 years old. Betty married Ray O’Daniel December 26, 1946, and they had a special marriage for 59 years.  She had many friends from various organizations that she participated in during her life which include Remus Home Demonstration Club, 4-H and F.H.A. mother and was a member of the PTA. She was also a faithful member of the Church of God in Maud for many years.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray O’Daniel, her parents,  Clarence Richard and Bessie Richard, two brothers, C.A. Richard Jr. and David Richard, two sisters, Frances Craney and Gloria Decker and one daughter, Susie O’Daniel. She is survived by one son, Charley O’Daniel and wife Trela of Yukon, Oklahoma, three daughters: Mary Hopper and husband Clarence of Maud, Oklahoma, Debbie Malcom of Maud, Oklahoma and Penny Hurd and husband Brent of Bridgeport, Texas. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one more on the way. A host of family and friends also survive her. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Church of God in Maud, Oklahoma Dan Kasper and Charley O’Daniel will officiate.  Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 190, Maud, Oklahoma 74854. Pallbearers will be:  Josh O’Daniel, Jay O’Daniel, Caleb Hurd, Garrett Malcom, Gerald Allison, Stephen Byrd and Rick Nagel.  Honorary Bearers will be: Ronnie Ross, George Eastling, Jake Hayhurst, Matt Wiman and Evert Anderson.
