Betty Geraldine (Collis) Morris, 81 year-old, long time Seminole County resident passed from this life May 6, 2011 at Holdenville Hospital. She was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on June 18, 1929 to parents John Calvin Collis and Myrtle Elsy (Orsburn) Collis. Betty married George Leland Morris, Jr. on July 31, 1946 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was of the Southern Baptist faith. Betty retired from St. Crispen’s Church Camp where she worked as a cook. Survivors include one son, Robert Stephen Morris of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, J.C. Collis of Holdenville, Oklahoma; one sister, JoAnne Andrews of Alabama; four grandchildren, Dinette Wren, Terri Stastny, Lea Carol Neill and Michael Morris; 9 great-grandchildren, Alvin Zac Wilson, Joshua Bost, Jonathon Wren, Stephen Neill, Legend Burrier, Nathan Stastny, Legacy Burrier, Brittlee Morris and Gavin Morris; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her husband George Leland Morris, Jr.; two sons, George Leland Morris III (died 4-29-2006) and Gerald Wayne Morris (died 12-8-03); one granddaughter, Cynthia (Morris) Wilson (died 4-7-09); and by two sisters, Joyce and Norma Lee Petete. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Honorary Bearers will be: Jessy Wren, Joshua Bost, Jonathon Wren, Stephen Neill, Alvin Zac Wilson, Michael Morris, Nathan Stastny, Gavin Morris and Legend Burrier.
