Funeral services for longtime Seminole and Oklahoma City resident Betty McDonald will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Church of Christ at Little with Rusty Dawson and Ron Babbit officiating. Burial will take place at 2:30p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Oklahoma.rnrnBetty was born on June 28, 1924 in Caddo, Oklahoma to George W. and Mary Arlena (Rex) Dunham. She passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84.rnrnShe married Clarence Freed, Jr. in 1942; he preceded her in death in November of 1986. She later married Leon McDonald on August 19, 1991 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Leon preceded her in death on January 21, 2007. Together they served on the site council board of the Seminole Senior Citizens Center where they were chosen in 2006 as the site?s Valentine King and Queen. rnrnShe was a bookkeeper and office manager for M & A Construction and also worked for Stolt Stotts in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Oklahoma Christian Women?s Association, the Church of Christ at Little, where she taught Ladies Bible Class, and the Carbondale Church of Christ in Tulsa. rnrnShe is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Dunham, her first husband, Clarance Freed, Jr, and her second husband, Leon McDonald, one brother, Alvin Dunham and three sisters, Georgia Dunham, Elavena Taff and Pauline Boris. rnrnShe is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Beverly Freed of Chickasha, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ron Babbit of Tulsa, Oklahoma, adopted son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Annette Cole and their children, Dennis, Aaron and Kaitlyn Cole of Magnolia, Texas. Four grandchildren and their spouses: Janet (Freed) and Jim Strate, Jr., Jerry and Carmen Freed, D.O., Lori (Babbit) and John Cox and Tyler Babbit and fianc? Katy Hicks. Six great grandchildren; Justin Strate, Jarred Strate, Randy Davis, Vail Freed, Christina Davis and Vann Freed. Special niece that was like a daughter to her, Mary Taff of Booneville, Arkansas.
