Betty Jean (Price) Walker

Betty Jean (Price) Walker , age 90 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate, and burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery.

Betty was born March 31, 1930 in Temple, Oklahoma to Sterling Price and Bertha (McClarty) Price.  She married Jesse Walker June 3, 1951 in Temple, Oklahoma. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and was a first grade teacher in Konawa.  Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa, and she loved reading, traveling, and being with her family.

Betty is survived by her husband, Jesse Walker of the home; one son, Lawrence Walker and wife, Patricia of Galveston, Texas; three daughters, Alice Burgess of Norman, Oklahoma, Susan Walker of Konawa, and Carol Fathi and husband, Nader of Spring, Texas; eleven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Bertha Price, and one granddaughter, Rebekah Burgess.
