Betty Jean (King) Howell, age 87, passed away at her home in Konawa, Oklahoma on November 25, 2020. She was born March 15, 1933 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to parents Tom King and Togee Tiger.
Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, watching westerns on television and always enjoyed taking care of her grandkids. She was a member of Bird Creek Church.
Betty is survived by her sons; William Howell and May of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Danny Howell and Cecelia of Konawa, Oklahoma, Carl Woods and Lena of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Tommy Howell and Stacy of Konawa, Oklahoma, Sammy Howell and Rachel of Pink, Oklahoma and Irving Riley of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, daughters; Anita Howell of Konawa, Johnnie Howell and Ace of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mary Howell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Denise Gentry and Jimmy Dean Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma and Sheila and Ron Burnside of Seminole, Oklahoma, sisters; Shelly Watson and Ted of Bethel, Oklahoma, Teresa Riley of Arizona, Allsia Howell and Tim Cully of Konawa, Wynema and Clyde Simpson of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Betty Miller of Ada, Oklahoma, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, uncles Johnny Tiger, William Howell, Tom King, Robert King, Edmond Joshua and Leroy Joshua and sons Jesse West and Vincent Riley.
The wake service will be at 6 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Howell residence, 13951 NS 3520, Konawa, Oklahoma. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Howell residence with Houston Tiger and Walter Tiger officiating. Burial will follow at the family cemetery.
Masks and social distancing are required. If you are showing any symptoms of COVID, please do not attend.
Casket bearers will be Jonathan Tebe, William Howell III, Bill Hobia, Raymond Shell, Austin Howell, Jake Carbitcher and Josh Howell. Honorary bearers will be William (Dub) Howell, Danny Howell, Carl King, Tommy Howell and Sammy Howell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma.
