Betty Burgess

Betty Jean Burgess, age 70, life-long Konawa area resident, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, July 23, 2006 in Ada, Okla. She was born on November 5, 1935 in Concho, OK to Hixton & Irene Mary (Coker) Burgess. She resided all of her life on the Coker Family Place east of Konawa. She was a member of High Springs Baptist Church in Konawa and the Rebecca Lodge. rnrnShe is survived by three sisters, Katie Breeden of Ada, Nettie Moreland and Edna Odell of Asher; two brothers, Frank Armstrong and Bill Armstrong of Konawa; several nieces & nephews and a host of other family & friends. rnrnShe was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Rev. Dan Coker & his wife Mamie Day Coker, John Burgess and his wife Jeanetta Tiger Burgess; one sister, Mary Wiley, two brothers, Robert "Peck" Armstrong and Danny "Chebon" Armstrong; several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews. rnrnFuneral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel will burial to follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, July 25 at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.rnrnArrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, 217 N. Broadway, Konawa, Oklahoma.
