Betty Jane (Bent) Bunnell

Betty Jane (Bent) Bunnell, age 77 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29th at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate.  Pallbearers are Glenn Badgett, Steven Baker, James Givens, David Eastman, Paul Williams, and Curtis Gentry.  Viewing is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the funeral home, and a book is available now for signing. Betty was born on February 25, 1935 in San Jose, California to Jess Bent and Martha (Sands) Bent.  She graduated high school and married James P. Bunnell on September 15, 1962 in San Jose, California.  She was a homemaker, and she also supported St. Jude’s Hospital and the United Christian Fund. Betty leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, James P. Bunnell of the home; one son, Don Varnnell of Vinita, Oklahoma; two daughters, Carla Hammack of Konawa, Oklahoma, and Tina Badgett of Los Angeles, California; one brother, Benny Bent of Modesto, California; two sisters, Mary Gross of Modesto, California, and Dorthy Jimenez of San Jose, California; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
