Betty Jean Brinsfield

Betty Jean Brinsfield, former Seminole county resident passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Noble, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Betty was born July 11, 1930 in Little, Oklahoma to parents George Wilson Scott and Dora Victora “Dove” Scott. Betty lived on a farm north of Little, Oklahoma until she was a teenager when the family moved north of Seminole on highway 99. She attended Varnum High School and later married E.E. “Jack” Brinsfield on January 3, 1947 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Betty worked in the manufacturing industry as a quality control supervisor, for Big Yank Manufacturing in Wewoka, Oklahoma, she retired after 30 years with the company. She was also a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Little, Oklahoma. Betty is survived by one son, Gary Wilson Brinsfield and his wife Jeng  of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter, Jackie Kay Dye and her husband Ronald of Noble, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jerry Garl Scott and his wife Rita of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Billy Ray Scott and his wife Romona Scott of Latta, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Bryan Brinsfield of Dallas, Texas, Charla Kuhlman of Mustang, Oklahoma, Melissa Lester and her husband Brian of Noble, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Dalton Lester, Trevor Lester, Skylar Lester, Mason Kuhlman and two great-great grandchildren, Chevy Lester and Cortland Lester. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Victora Scott; husband E.E. “Jack” Brinsfield; two brothers, Roland Scott and Darrell Scott; one grandson, Gary Dye. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole, Oklahoma with Kirby Hinds officiating.  Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Seminole County, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers are: Brian Lester, Trevor Lester, Mike Scott, Ronald Dye, Rusty Scott and Dalton Lester. Honorary casket bearer will be Bryan Brinsfield.
