Bessie (Cully) Davis

Bessie (Cully) Davis, age 67 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at AllianceHealth Hospital in Seminole, Oklahoma. She will be taken from Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa to Birdcreek Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21st for a 7:00 p.m. Wake service that night.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Jimsey Harjo and Arthur Carpitcher will officiate.  Casket bearers are Trenton Davis, Nate Davis, Josh Davis, Chris Baker, Lydell Yellowfish, and Ronald Walker.  Honorary bearers are James Shaw, Larry Grass, Clayton Shaw, Leander Yellowfish, George Factor, and Slick Factor. Bessie was born January 21, 1949 in Konawa to Noma Cully and Lowina (Lowe) Cully.  She graduated from Konawa High School and worked as a seamstress for Michael’s Casuals and for Sports Support Industry of Konawa.  Bessie loved to take care of foster children and to provide a place for people to stay. She also loved going to casinos.  Bessie had a sense of humor and was always a comedian. She is survived by one son, Victor Davis of Konawa; two daughters, Yauna Walker and husband, Rick of Konawa, and Lavina Perales of Konawa; one brother, Eugene Cully and wife, Maribeth of McGregor, Texas; three sisters, Sue Givens of Konawa, Ramona Robinson of Sasakwa, and Annie Shaw and husband, Wayne of Konawa; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noma and Lowina Cully; two brothers, Lewis and Jack Harjo; one sister, Hattie Wolf; one son, Michael Cully; one grandson, Colton Davis, and one great granddaughter, Violet Davis.
