Longtime Seminole resident Bertha Lindsey Deere passed away on July 15, 2009 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 57. She was born on September 22, 1951 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Willie and Lizzie (Coody) Lindsey. She was a waitress and a member of the Mekuskey Indian Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons; Charles William Deere of Checotah and Larry Deere of Eufaula, two daughters; Taiwanna Deere of Eufaula and daughter, Jeannie Jones on Seminole, Oklahoma, seven brothers, Bobby Jack Spencer, Eugene Lindsey, Walter Gene Lindsey, Jimmy Lindsey, Thomas Lindsey, Leroy Mitchell and Alex Lindsey, three sisters, Dorothy Jean Davis, Mary Ann Lindsey and Augustine Lindsey. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Lizzie Lindsey and one brother, Charles Lindsey. Wake services are scheduled for 6-8 pm. Friday, July 17 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel. She will be moved to the family home at 35873 Hwy 9 East on Saturday, July 18 for visitation until Monday at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Mekuskey Indian Baptist Church.
