Bernadine Marie (Graves) Minter

Bernadine Marie (Graves) Minter, age 79, passed away on December 2, 2020 in Seminole, Oklahoma, surrounded by family. She was born December 1, 1941 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Rev. Cagle Graves and Vernie (Carlton) Graves. She was a graduate of Bowlegs High School. After high school she worked many years in accounting for Hopeman Equipment in Seminole.

She loved her family and especially enjoyed the great grandchildren. She loved the staff and family at Pioneer Nursing Home where she had been a resident for several years. She was known for sending greeting cards with an encouraging word and a scripture with them. She loved to go to church and would listen to preaching and music on the radio and television.

Bernadine is survived by two daughters; Lisa Martin of Seminole and Jackie Allen of Sulphur, two granddaughters that she raised; Sarah and Jarrod Ruth of Seminole and Rachel and Terri Trent of Seminole, granddaughter; Ravonda Lilly of Tulsa, stepson; Carl Minter of Seminole, six great grandchildren, two brothers; Duane Graves of Perry and David Graves of Piedmont, four sisters; Bonnie Carter of Seminole, Lequita and Ron Sheppard of Seminole, Ruth Carpenter of Blanchard and Cheryl Minter of Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole. Cheryl and Bernadine had rooms next to each other and enjoyed a lot of time together. She had many nieces, nephews and extended family, too numerous to name, that she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Cagle and Vernie Graves, two brothers; Bill Graves and Jim Graves, her first husband and the father of her two daughters; David Martin, her second husband; Jim Minter and step-sons; Jimmy Glen Minter and Daryl Minter.

Viewing for Bernadine will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Will Macsas officiating.

Due to COVID restrictions, the service will be limited to family and all are asked to wear a mask.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
