Berna Dean Humphrey

Berna Dean (Guinn) Humphrey, 73 year old Holdenville, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Holdenville.  She was born October 27, 1945 in Lakewood, Colorado to parents Henry Chesley Guinn and Anna B. (Reaves) Guinn. Berna was raised in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma graduating from Bethel High School in 1963.  She went on to continue her education at the Oklahoma School of Banking. On November 27, 1963 Berna married the love of her life Bobby Ray Humphrey at Blackburn Chapel in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Berna worked as an account Tech at Central Oklahoma Juvenile Treatment Center (COJC) in Tecumseh, Oklahoma from 1987 until her retirement in 2008.  In 2005 Berna and her husband Bobby moved to Holdenville from Bethel. Berna was a member of the Blackburn Chapel for many years.  She was also a former member of the Square 8’s Square Dance Club.  She was also an avid bowler. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Bobby Ray Humphrey of the home; one son, Bobby Ray Humphrey Jr. and his wife Cindie of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two daughters, Lisa Robinson and her husband Andrew of Maud, Oklahoma, Amanda Mullendore and her husband Brian of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dale Guinn and his wife Pat of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jim Guinn of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one sister, Sue Minyard and her husband Charlie of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, Destiny Robinson, Brooklyn Robinson, Emily Mullen, Heather Underhill, Bobby Humphrey III, Savanna Ortiz, Taylor Mullendore, Dakota Mullendore; by 8 great-grandchildren; and by a host of other family and dear friends. Berna was preceded in death by her father Henry Guinn, by her mother Anna Viscount, by her step-father who she dearly loved, Frank Viscount and by one grandson, Jacob Mullendore who died in 2007. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Blackburn Chapel located at 36305 Lake Road in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
