Benny Joe Hisaw

Benny Joe Hisaw, age 78 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away from this life Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his home. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Drew Isaacs will officiate.  Casket bearers are Delbert Hisaw, Harlee Hisaw, Logan Shaye Hisaw, Eric Perry, Jack Merrell, and Jack Douglas.  Honorary casket bearer is Ryle Hisaw. Benny was born June 14, 1938 in Ada, Oklahoma to Benjamin Franklin Hisaw and Ella Dee (Owen) Hisaw. He was an independent truck driver, and he married Cleta Grace Reed in 1958.  He loved his family, and he was a loving husband and dad. He is survived by one son, Billy Joe Hisaw of the home; two daughters, Joanie (Hisaw) Ashcraft of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Nancy Carol Slaughter also of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one brother, Bill Underwood of Texas; two sisters, Betty Sue Phillips of Konawa, and Ina Grant of Ada, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Ella Dee Hisaw; his wife, Cleta Grace (Reed) Hisaw; two sons, James Garland Perry and Ronald Joe Hisaw; one brother, Delbert Hisaw; and two sisters, Faye Miller and Judy Blanset.
