BARBARA LEE (JONES) SHORT SEMINOLE, OKLA - Barbara Lee (Jones) Short, 94, former longtime Seminole resident died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. Barbara was born February 26, 1918 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Clifford Houston and Nancy Angeline (Norris) Jones. Mrs. Short was a homemaker, mother and a member of the First Baptist Church in Victoria, Texas for many years.  "Barbara, known also as Bob and Bobbie, devoted her life to her family and friends. They were all blessed by her strength, courage, wisdom and loving encouragement. They all benefitted from her many talents, including needlework, sewing, numerous crafts, and gardening. She served joyfully in many capacities as an almost 50-year member of First Baptist Church of Victoria TX. Her wonderful smile will be remembered with love." Barbara is survived by her son Tommy Lee Short and his wife Joy of Cypress, Texas and a daughter Nancy Jane (Short) Miller and her husband Ward of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren Clayton Houston Miller and his wife Anna, Lindsey Kristin Miller, Mitchell Lee Short and Allison Elaine Short also by one great grandchild Keaton Dean Miller. She is also survived by Sister-in-law, Jeaneel Whitman Jones of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Her Husband Jimmie Burl Short in May of 1995, her son Jimmie B. Short, Jr. and a brother JR Jones. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
