Barbara Ann (Stokes) Johnsten, longtime Konawa resident, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Boyce Manor Nursing Home in Holdenville, Okla. at the age of 72.rnrnShe was born April 1, 1935 in Konawa to James Daniel & Elvy Mae (Potter) Stokes. rnrnBarbara married Raymond "Ray" Carl Johnsten of February 14, 1981 in Bakersfield, CA. They moved to Konawa from Wofford Heights, California in 1983. Mr. Johnsten preceded Barbara in death on September 20, 1989.rnrnBarbara was a member of the Church of Christ and had worked as a cashier, home health aid and seamstress for several years.rnrnShe is survived by three daughters, Marjorie Maxwell of Konawa, Shirley Hollis of Konawa and Pat Colvin of Casper, WY;rnnine grandchildren; rn17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.rnrnShe was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carl Richard "Butch" Hollis; two grandsons, Ryan Hollis and James Jay "Jimmy" Roberts and three brothers, Hubert, Clarence and Pete Stokes. rnrnMemorial services will be held in April 2008.rnrnArrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, 217 N.
