Barbara Hanson

Barbara J. Hanson, 79, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Barbara was born August 28, 1939 in Downs, Kansas to Robert White and Maxine (McConnell) Myers. Barbara attended Duncan High School in Duncan, Oklahoma. She worked as an accountant at North American Rockwell in California and locally at VF Wrangler as a Parts Distributor. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma, loved quilting, crochet needlepoint , cooking and baking. She was also a member of the Pomeranian Dog Club and a Norwegian Elkhound Breeder. Barbara married Ervin L. Hanson on December 21, 1958 in Downey, California and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2014. Barbara is survived by two sons Michael K. Hanson and Steven B. Hanson and his wife Karen both of Seminole, Oklahoma, two granddaughters Ariel Brooke Hanson and Emily May Hanson. She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin L. Hanson, her parents, brother Bobby White, and sister-in-law Diane White, her step-dad Lee Myers, brother-in-law Dean Hanson and nephews Kevin White and Chad White. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Mark Watson officiating. Memorial arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
