Barbara Ann (Presley) Fletcher

Barbara Ann Fletcher, Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Shawnee, at the age of 83.  Barbara was born on September 22, 1939 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma.  She married Verlin Fletcher on June 20, 1955 in Ada, Oklahoma.   She grew up and spent most of her life in St. Louis and Maud.

Barbara enjoyed photography, crochet, crossword puzzles and OU football. She also took joy in baking sweets, playing bingo, watching drag racing, camping, and Mexican food (especially cheese enchiladas). Barbara was a very protective mother. Her boys were the light of her life. There’s nothing she wouldn’t have done for them. She was a proud grandmother. She took pride in her grandkids and their accomplishments and was always their number one fan. She was a loyal friend and the backbone of her family.

Barbara is survived by her son, Cary and Karen Fletcher of Maud; daughter in law, Brenda Fletcher; sister, Linda and Lou Schaflander of Seminole; five grandchildren, Bill and Tarrah Willis of Maud, Brad and Lacey Fletcher of Maud, Brian Fletcher of Maud, Shae and Monica Fletcher of Maud and Cherrish and Morgan Fletcher of Bethel; 11 great grandchildren, Lari, Megan, Beau, Braiden, Braylee, Christian, Shaelynn, Braxton, Madison, Clyde and Montgomery Ann (Shoogs); 1 great great grandchild, Haegan and 2 great great grandchildren on the way; and many other family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and M.P. Presley; husband, Verlin Fletcher; son Larry Don Fletcher; granddaughter, Brandy Fletcher; sister, Norma Presley; brother, Bill Presley and great grandson, Gatlin Ruger McDonald.

Viewing will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Braiden Fletcher, Brad Fletcher, Larry Alford, Randal Rodgers, Colton McDonald and Beau Willis.  Honorary casket bearers will be Brian Fletcher, Eric Browning and Bill Willis.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma with Pastor Butch Bradley officiating.  Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
