Barbara Lee (Monday) Brown

Barbara Lee (Monday) Brown passed away on February 3, 2022, at the age of 68 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born January 28, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Aubrey Lee Monday and Lorene (Griffin) Monday. She grew up in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and graduated from Tecumseh High School. After high school, Barbara received a scholarship to study journalism at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Later she attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.

Barbara loved Arkansas and lived there for several years. She loved horticulture and had an amazing green thumb. She also loved camping and cooking.

Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her mother; Lorene Monday, her daughter; Lisa Hopson and her husband Steven of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her sister; Beverly Strand and her husband Bruce and Beverly’s son; Ethan Edwards and his wife Marissa, grandchildren; Michael Dale Whitlock, Preston Jacob Littrell, Alexis Lea Alderson and Gabrielle Amare’ Davis, great-grandchildren; Khloe Whitlock, Lilly Whitlock, Elijah Whitlock, Sully Whitlock, Josie Alderson, Ezra Davis and Nokose Davis. She was preceded in death by her father Aubrey Lee Monday.

The memorial service for Barbara will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
