Audrey Mae Black

Audrey Mae (Finch) Black “Mema”, age 79, and long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed from this life on August 17, 2010 at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.  Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Rev. Ed Bray, Pastor of Cross Timbers Church in Konawa will officiate.  Pallbearers are Justin Wood, Jonathan Wood, Jarrode Wood, Brandon Hilyard, Brent Hilyard, Jr., and Frankie Hudson. Audrey was born on July 6, 1931, in Konawa to Albert Finch and Ethel (Harrison) Finch.  Audrey worked for the Konawa School System and the sewing factory that was in Konawa before her retirement.  She married James Black on May 28, 1951.  Audrey lived the last five years of her life with her daughter, Sonya who lovingly cared for her. She is survived by one daughter, Sonya Hudson and husband, Charles of Tupelo, Oklahoma; one brother, A. J. Finch and wife, Mary Jo of Konawa; one sister, Faye Sherwood of Konawa; eight grandchildren, Brent Hilyard, Brandon Hilyard, Jessica Hudson, Charles Hudson, Jr., Justin Wood, Jonathan Wood, Jarrode Wood, and Cassidy Stark-Wood; and seven great grandchildren, Cara, Cooper, Jayden, and Camden Hilyard, Abigale and Kayllee Wood, and Coty Stark. She was preceded by her parents, Albert and Ethel Finch; her husband, James Black in 1992; one sister, Nelly Mosely; and three brothers, Chester Finch, B.A. Finch, and Lonnie Finch.
