Astra Jean Gavrel

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Wanette Cemetery Chapel in Wanette, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. David Holland will officiate, and burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery.

Astra Jean Gavrel was born sleeping March 29, 2025 to parents, Christopher and Tara  Gavrel of Richmond, Texas. Though she was born silent, her little life spoke volumes. Deeply loved and forever in our hearts, Astra will always be our shining star and the brightest light in the sky watching over us.

She is survived by her parents, Christopher and Tara Gavrel of the home; one sibling sister, Kaydee Mae; paternal grandmother, DeeAnn Gavrel; maternal grandparents, Troy Van Brunt and Sandra G. Molina, and Scott and Debbie Howard; aunts and uncles, Jonathan and Johnnie Cantwell, Ashton and Paula Humphrey, Lance and Sherra Gilbert, Troy Ryan and Evie Van Brunt; cousins, Ava and Caleb Cantwell, Jaxson Humphrey, Ellowyn and Wrenly Van Brunt; and a host of family and friends.

Astra Jean was also deeply loved by great grandparents, great uncles and aunts, and extended cousins from the paternal family of Gavrel, Lyons, Jouganatos, Pastor, Papantonakis, and maternal family of Van Brunt, Larman, Neely, and Holland.
