Arnetta “Nett” Lee Jackson, was born June 8, 1926 in Seminole County, Oklahoma. She was the third child of Tommie Lee and Tennie (Benton) Lee.
She attended Dunbar High School in Shawnee, OK. After high school, she and Edward Loyal Brown were married and had daughter Vernie Brown.
Nett continued living in Earlsboro for several years and had daughter Parthenia “Tina” Logan with Melvin Logan.
Years later, Nett met Walter “Peanut” Jackson and had daughter Deneisa Jackson.
Nett also lovingly raised her grandson Tommy Brown, who was devoted to his grandmother until her passing.
Nett was a lifetime resident of Earlsboro and attended White Chapel Church, where she was a lifetime member, Treasurer, and Mother of the Church.
Nett also was a founding member of the W.W.W. Club, serving as Treasurer for many years.
Nett was known for and loved gardening, canning, cooking, and visiting on her front porch with friends and neighbors.
Arnetta “Nett” Lee Jackson departed this life on January 9, 2022.
Nett was preceded in death by her parents, brother Rogers Lee and sister Helen Smith, Edward Loyal Brown, Melvin Logan, Walter Jackson, daughter Vernie Brooks, grandson Bryant James Burdine, and great-grandson Ciar Pierce.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters: Parthenia “Tina” (Alphonso) Burdine, Edmond, OK and Deneisa Jackson, Edmond, OK. She is also survived by her son-in-law Joe Brooks, Earlsboro, OK. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Tommy Brown and his wife Taria, Bridgett Brooks, Sarah Burdine, Melvin (Detra) Burdine, and Renee (Dwight) Bibbs, as well great-grandchildren Courtney Brown, E’Lescia, Cameron, and Lauren Burdine, Devin, Meagan, and Morgan Burdine, Bianca, Sajun, and Blake Bibbs, and great-great-grandchildren Ciara Pierce and Casen Burdine. Nett is also survived by her niece Melvon Brown, nephews Zelford Smith, and Kelvin Smith, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, January 14, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Kimberly Coulter and Rev. Richard Laskey officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
