Anna Simmons Longtime Seminole resident Anna Loyce Prince Simmons went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, in Seminole, at home with her husband, Sonny, at her side. She was born June 13, 1941, to parents Leon John and Aline Loyce (Kirby) Prince Thrasher, in Sulphur. Anna and Sonny (Hugh Sonny Simmons) were married Nov. 2, 1957, in Chandler. She graduated from Seminole High School with the class of 1959. She worked as the office manager and bookkeeper for years, at Thrasher Lab, in Seminole. Anna was a member of Immanuel Fellowship Church, in Seminole, where she was active in the Nursing Home Ministry, as well as many other ministries involving children. Miss Anna was much loved by all children and since this past summers Vacation Bible School, at Immanuel Fellowship, she has been lovingly known as “Miss Bear.” She volunteered at “Agape House”, a ministry of Immanuel Fellowship, in downtown Seminole. Anna leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Sonny Simmons, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Tamey Simmons, of Park Hill and Justin and Jill Simmons, of Moore; grandsons, Clayton and Bryce Simmons, of Park Hill; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy Dianna Simmons; son, Danny Michael Simmons, and brother, Leon Prince. Anna spent her time with us caring for family, friends, and those in need within the community. A celebration of Anna’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, at the home of Bob and Sherweeta Benn, located ¾ mile west of Seminole State College, and 1 ½ mile north, on the east side of the road.
