Annella Belle (Carpitcha) “Ann B.” Kemp, 93 year old former Seminole County resident, passed from this life in Seminole, Oklahoma on Christmas evening, December 25, 2015. She was born March 6, 1922 in Maud, Oklahoma to parents Jimpsey Carbitcha and Lucinda (Coker) Carbitcha. After graduation from Central School, Ann joined the United States Army Air Force. While in the Army Air Force, she earned the rank of Sergeant and served as a Cryptographic Technician. Ann also earned two Overseas Service Medals, the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the WAAC Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Following her discharge from the United States Army, she moved to the Houston, Texas area where she owned and operated Conroe Lock & Key Smith Company in Conroe, Texas. Ann was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and was also of the Episcopalian Faith. Ann is survived by one sister, Majel Carpitcha of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, by one niece, WaDean Cowan of Maud, Oklahoma, by one nephew, Wallace Cowan, Jr. of Maud, Oklahoma; and by a host of other nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Jimpsey Carbitcha and Lucinda (Coker) Carbitcha, one sister, Maxine Cowan, her first husband, Noah Woolridge, her second husband, Marvin Kemp, and a close companion, Earl Livesay of Conroe, Texas. Funeral Services with Military Honors are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Frank Brewer officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Seminole Nation National Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
