She was born November 8, 1926 in Haworth, Oklahoma to parents Hice William Hill and Wilma Hill.rnrnThe Arnold family moved to the Maud area just West of the Amerada Oil Company on the ?Peters? lease in early 1941. Ann met her future husband Jack Arnold while attending Maud High School. They began courting in the fall of 1943 and were married on February 26, 1944 in the Maud Methodist parsonage by Rev. Darvis Parker. Their first night as newlyweds was spent at George?s Hotel on Main Street in Maud. Their first apartment was a room in the Love Hotel in Purcell, Oklahoma before moving to Seminole.rnrnJack worked for the Amerada Oil Company in Seminole while Ann raised their three daughters. In 1968 Jack and Ann purchased the Hardware Store in Maud from Ralph Jones. The Arnolds ran the Hardware Store for 10 years before they sold it to Chumley Waldroup. Ann also served two terms as the district president for the Oklahoma School Food Association. She was a member of the Prairie Valley Home Demonstration Club, the State Dental Association and the Maud Elementary Parents Association. We will all remember Ann as the one we would call on to help with dinner for any fundraisers the community had. Ann and her husband Jack also had a great time at Christmas, because they always decorated their yard with tremendous Holiday Spirit. People would drive from surrounding towns just to see Jack and Ann?s home adorned from the roof of the house to almost every square foot of their yard covered with Christmas lights and ornaments.
